Vivid is a light festival held in Sydney each year. Each year, the creators of Vivid look for new and exciting ways to celebrate light, colour and bringing people together. Often, many of the light displays that are included in Vivid also reflect of key historical issues as well as political, environmental and global issues that Australia is involved in. For example, this year one of the light displays that was included in Vivid was labelled, "Urban Tree 2.0." This display included a large building that was covered in colourful projections including flora and fauna. However, many of the light displays that are used each year in Vivid are repetitive and boring. Many of the displays are held only on land, and very few light displays incorporate the harbour that vivid overlooks. Vivid is held at Circular Quay for 23 days every year. Circular Quay, being near to the water opens an opportunity for a large underwater ROV light show where we can bring Vivid off the land, into the beautiful harbour that it looks out on.
